Here I’ve created my own milk company. Starting from the name right up to the packaging and advertising material. Above is the packaging for the three types of milk recognised by many. Skimmed, Semi-Skimmed and Whole.
The name ‘GOT MILK’ seemed only right if not obvious for a milk brand. Its a common question asked by many if not all.
When making the infamous cup of tea or coffee, ‘Got any milk?’.
I wanted the packaging to be minimal with maximum impact. It needed to stand out from the rest of the boring and over complicated milk packaging in the chiller eisles. After extensive research i found that most of the current milk packaging is very complicated. I thought to myself, this is milk, why does it need to be complicated. This is why I stripped the down the packaging to its bare bones.
I used the old style milk bottle outline to create a little interest and but to also suggest that this is just milk, no fancy additions, nothing extra that a consumer would normally overlook. This is what the old style glass bottles were, they were plain and package’less.
To show which milk type was which, I used the commonly known/used colours associated with each very sparingly on each package. Using a thin weighted, coloured circle within the ‘O’ of the logo, and to help further I used colour on the neck of the carton.
Ive used quite ‘humorous’ quotes on the sides of the packaging, signalling when you should get more milk. Each of the plimsol lines draws from the brand name ‘GOT MILK’.
eg. top line - got lots of milk
second line - got quite alot of milk. etc.
